For people with certain genetic mutations may need different hours for sleep and may even find the need to sleep at a different time of the day. But the bottom line is, you need to listen to your body and figure out for yourself if you are getting the amount of sleep you need.

Sleep on a schedule

Whether it be through dimming the lights before you hit the hay, reading a book, and listening to music, having a relaxing ritual can help you get into the mood before sleeping. 

Steer clear from stimulants 

Whether this is caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol, these substances have been linked to poorer sleep quality. 

Exercise regularly

Poor sleep is also an effect of being inactive while getting the needed exercise can help you sleep better as some studies show.
